How do I apologize to my dad?

Q: So me and my dad had this fight on Tuesday. He was saying something to my mom about me, and i was in the bathroom so i was like 'if you have something to say, then say it to my face.' then he kept talking and it annoyed me and i was like 'if you dont have anything nice to say, then don't say it at all.' and we're asian so he doesnt know english that well so he thought i was telling him to shut up but i wasnt. now hes ignoring me and not talking, i suppose hes still mad. and i dont want to apologize to him because its not my fault for him misunderstanding. However, I do know I should apologize. But I'm never good at apologizing. I find it akward and I don't know how to start. So how should I apologize to my dad? IM NOT GOOD AT APOOLOGIZING. :(

A: Hey sweetheart, I've been in the same shoes before. One of the hardest things in life is probably to apologize. Mistakes are made all the time which are neither necessarily intended or directly our fault. There isn't many ways to do it and it doesn't matter how it happens, as long as it's sincere. I remember I once approached my father and gave him a hug and simply said sorry (in Cantonese). If any young lady feels remorse after any argument, no matter who's at fault, then she must be a very very sweet girl. I'm sure you'll know what to do when you feel it's right. Dan
