Q: my 8yr old bro has behaviour problems and for no reason starts to attack me where ever we are. he lies about me to my mum and calls me names. i cant cope any more. ant ideas...?
A: Boys will be boys remember and that can include quite a lot of aggression. Theres a couple of possibilities here - 1. he hates your guts. 2. He adores you and wishes you would pay him more attention and include him in your life, take him seriously etc. 3. He is indifferent to you but sees you as a way of getting more of your mother's attention. Try being obviously kinder to him, offering to play with him, taking an interest in him instead of thinking of him as a pest or nuisance. If you can make an ally of him, then he'll give all that hassle to someone else, hopefully, or even better, he might become a happy little boy. You dont say how old you are but if youre a teenager, he may find you intimidating. Maybe he feels your friends make fun of him or whatever. Try and do some things together just the two of you against the world.
