Q: So my little sister is 11 years old, and she will be part of this wedding.I think she should be the JR bride's mate, but this bride is very firm and snappy, and has to have everything her way.Any little suggestion... she's pissed.She will be marrying my uncle and she wants my 11 year old sister to be the flower girl.Am i right that a girl shouldn't be over 8 years old to be then flower girl?!??!?!? my mom said she has to do whatever the bride says because then she'll get mad! isn't she too old?!
A: I think you're right. For my wedding my niece was the flower girl and she was 6. Her mom wanted her other daughter to be the flower girl though and she was also 11. Her mom is my sister, and she tried to take total control over MY wedding. After we fought with her for MONTHS she finally decided to let the other little girl be the flower girl. I do agree that 11 is too old. I understand that it is her wedding, but try to talk to her and tell her that at most weddings the flower girl is under 11 years old. If you can't change her mind, just let her have her way but you will still know how odd it is to have an older girl be the flower girl. Haha, thinking about that though I remembered that when we tried to talk my sister out of it, she goes "who cares it doesn't matter what age they are I could have a 25 year old be the flower girl. I'll just go okay your the flower girl." "But i'm 30" "Tough sh*t, your the flower girl" She really didn't care lol. Well I hope I helped just a little bit :)
